For nearly a decade, Tucson Historic Preservation Foundation (THPF) has organized Tucson Modernism Week (TMW) - endeavoring to bring dynamic local, regional and national speakers, highlight hidden modernist treasures scattered throughout our community and present the insightful - and often overlooked - history of our region's mid-century heritage.
TMW Guide 2021 In developing programming for Tucson Modernism Week, THPF researches and makes an effort to reveal the incredible and, all too often, forgotten legacy of architects, artists and designers who once called the "Old Pueblo" home and who contributed to the visual development of our Southwestern Region. Highlighted in TMW Guide 2021 are a number of significant figures including Native American Designer-Craftsman Lloyd Kiva, The Southwestern Indian Arts Project; Women Who Curated Tucson's Architecture; and Hartwig's The Magazine Tucson.
Since 2015, Tucson Historic Preservation Foundation has annually published the Tucson Modernism Week Guide.
